Nominations are being sought for two institutional awards to recognize Concordia’s leaders. The awards are granted to faculty or librarians who have supported Concordia’s mission by demonstrating exceptional abilities and by achieving significant administrative accomplishments.
There are two eligibility tracks. The Emerging Leadership Award can go to a current full-time faculty member or librarian with more than five years of full-time experience at Concordia, or a part-time faculty member with more than 90 credits of part-time seniority at the university, who has not served in a formal administrative role. The Concordia Academic Leadership Award can go to anyone who is serving or has served in a formal administrative role, such as a program director, department chair, college principal, supervisory librarian, associate university librarian or associate dean.
The nominator must be a faculty member, librarian, program director, department chair, college principal, supervisory librarian, associate university librarian, associate dean or a dean, and must have a seconder who also holds one of the listed positions.
“The importance of ethical academic leadership, which included responsible management, fiscal responsibility and faculty career development, is underlined with the granting of these awards,” says Centre for Academic Leadership Executive Director Dominic Peltier-Rivest. “It’s important to promote these values that support the university’s strategic direction.”
The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 15, 2013. The full instructions and nomination form are linked to below.
