Seeking nominations for staff award

Librarian Freda Otchere remembered for her long commitment and professionalism

The Freda Otchere Staff Recognition Award exists to encourage and reward staff currently working for Concordia Libraries whose commitment and professionalism reflect the values exemplified by Freda Otchere. Dan Otchere (Economics) established this award in 2010 in memory of his late wife, Freda, who served as a cataloguer and supervisory librarian from 1970 to 2004.

The award is made annually by the University Librarian on the recommendation of the Staff Recognition Award Committee (Caroline Apollon, George Brunetti, Anna Michetti, David Thirlwall and Luigina Vileno). The recipient is a current employee (full-time or part-time, permanent or temporary) who, in the course of the previous year, has performed an outstanding service that bears witness to individual honesty, courage, perseverance and integrity.

Nominations are now sought to decide who should be the recipient of this award for 2012.

Deadline extended: Submit the Nomination Form (linked to below) by November 30, 2012. Anyone — students, faculty, staff, members of the public alike — may submit a nomination.
