Nominations sought for advisory search committee

Member of the School of Extended Learning needed for search for dean, NEW deadline is September 20

PLEASE NOTE: Due to a conflict, the original dates have been modified.

In accordance with the provisions set out in the evaluation procedure for senior academic administrators and for the president and vice-chancellor (Policy BD-5), an advisory search committee for the dean of the School of Extended Learning has been established prior to the expiry of their first mandate.

The Associate Vice-President of Human Resources, Carolina Willsher, is convening the Electoral College for the purpose of nominating one member of the administrative and support staff from the School of Extended Learning. The incumbent for the committee is nominated in accordance with the Electoral College Policy.

Nominations procedure

Any permanent full- or part-time member of the administrative and support staff member from the School of Extended Learning may nominate, be nominated or endorse a nomination.

The nomination form must be signed and agreed to by the candidate and bear the signature of the nominator as well as the endorsement of five additional permanent full or part-time members of the administrative and support staff of the School of Extended Learning.

Candidates must submit a pen sketch, which should include information about why they are interested in serving on the Advisory Search Committee.

Please submit nominations and pen sketches by Thursday, September 20, 2012 to: Carolina Willsher, associate vice-president, Human Resources, S-FB 1130 or fax to 514-848-2844 (or ext. 2844 internally). 

The Electoral College will convene on Friday, September 21, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room MB 14.250 of the John Molson School of Business Building (1450 Guy St.), SIr George Williams Campus.

The Electoral College will be provided with the submitted pen sketches prior to the meeting. If the Electoral requires more information from the candidates to make a decision, interviews will be arranged for Friday, September 21, 2012. Once the Electoral College has nominated each representative, the names of the candidates will be submitted to the secretary of the Board of Governors for ratification.
