Under the Pay Equity Act, employers are required to periodically conduct a pay equity audit in their organizations to determine if differences in compensation were recreated between predominantly female job categories and predominantly male job categories.
This audit — called a pay equity maintenance exercise — must be conducted every five years and is normally conducted by the employer rather than by a committee. It is now completed for CUFA, and the required posting is now available on the pay equity web page.
The pay equity maintenance exercise for Concordia University Library Employees Union (CULEU) will be completed before the end of 2012.
Concordia University Support Staff Union (CUSSU), Association of Concordia University Management and Administrative Employees (ACUMAE), CUPEU (Concordia University Professional Employees Union) and non-unionized employees had their pay equity exercises completed in 2011. The maintenance audits for those groups will be conducted in 2016.
