Concordia University and the Association of Concordia University Management and Administrative Employees (ACUMAE) have signed a memorandum of agreement for manager and administrative employee salary increases for the period of June 2010 to June 2012.
Discussions between the university and ACUMAE were positive. “We are pleased with the outcome of the discussions, as it provides for salary adjustments that are fair, and respect the parameters prescribed by our government funding framework,” says Associate Vice-President, Human Resources, Carolina Willsher.
“Given the current legislative framework and as we move forward, we are pleased to have reached agreement on the issue of salaries as it adjusts remuneration from 2009 to current levels and provides for retroactive compensation for our members, ” notes ACUMAE President Miriam Posner. “ACUMAE acknowledges the spirit of fairness in the university’s initiative to allow retroactive adjustments to be implemented immediately even though this would normally occur only after all negotiations had been completed.”
“I want to thank the parties,” says Vice-President, Institutional Relations and Secretary General, Bram Freedman, “who, in the spirit of collaboration, reached an agreement that is sustainable in the context of the university’s financial situation and represents the interests of managers and administrative employees represented by ACUMAE as well as those of the university.”
