Information available on pay equity maintenance

Exercises completed for CUCEPTFU and CUPFA

Under the Pay Equity Act, an employer is required to periodically conduct a pay equity audit in their organization to determine if differences in compensation were recreated between predominantly female job categories and predominantly male job categories.

This audit — called a pay equity maintenance exercise — must be conducted every five years and is normally conducted by the employer rather than by a committee.

Audits have been completed for both CUCEPTFU and CUPFA, and the required postings are now available on the pay equity web page.

Pay equity maintenance exercises for CUFA and CULEU will be completed before the end of 2012.

CUSSU, ACUMAE, CUPEU and non-unionized employees had their pay equity exercises completed in 2011. The maintenance audits for those groups will be conducted in 2016.
