As part of overall renovations to the Guy-Metro (GM) Building, work has begun to replace the Guy-Concordia metro ceiling.
The affected area is on the metro level of the GM Building and is delineated by the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex, the tunnel leading to the Henry F. Hall and J.W. McConnell Library buildings, and the commercial stores in between.
Once construction is complete, the area will feature a new ceiling with updated lighting as well as new backlit directional signs to clearly identify the entrances to the Concordia buildings. The new signage will create a more cohesive presence for the university at the metro-level entrances.
The renovations, which will take place between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. in order to minimize disruption to metro users, will not affect access to the metro nor to any of Concordia's buildings.
The ceiling demolition and renovation is performed in coordination with the Société de Transport de Montréal and will be completed by the fall.
