Shuttle service to operate uninterrupted during protests

Delays possible, but shuttle between campuses running on regular schedule throughout student protests; alternate bus stop at Bishop Court

Shuttle service between the Sir George Williams (SGW) and Loyola campuses will continue as normal during the ongoing student protests.

While passengers should allow extra time for inter-campus commutes in case of delay, the shuttle will run according to its regular schedule, says Desmond O’Neill, director of Transportation and Distribution Services at Concordia.

The Loyola bus stop has so far been unaffected by protest activities, but the SGW stop has already been blocked several times.

“We have staff monitoring the situation every 10 to 15 minutes,” explains O’Neill. “As soon as we see that protesters have blocked traffic on De Maisonneuve or are obstructing access to the bus stop, a staff member is immediately dispatched to the scene.”

In case of roadblocks or other disruptions to vehicular traffic, Transporation and Distribution Services staff will direct passengers to the alternate bus stop at Bishop Court (south-east corner of Bishop Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard).

People with reduced mobility will be escorted to and from the Bishop Court stop, as necessary, and given priority boarding.
