The Henry F. Hall Building continues to undergo a series of repairs and renovations. This includes the lobby and mezzanine escalators, as well as those on the sixth and seventh floors.
These renovations will see the complete replacement of the lobby and mezzanine escalators, which will continue throughout the summer. Completion is expected in time for the start of the fall term.
Repairs to existing escalators on the sixth and seventh floors are now complete, with the final touches — including clean-up, removal of the temporary walls and the installation of finished walls — to be finished by the end of March.
While the escalator on the west (Mackay Street) side of the lobby is installed, access to the mezzanine from the lobby will be limited to the stairs and the east (Bishop Street) escalator, installed last September. Access to the elevators from the lobby remain, but priority is given to persons with mobility impairments.
People are encouraged to use the Mackay Street entrance to the building to avoid climbing a set of stairs or taking an escalator from the lobby.
