Graduate conference on Diversity, Politics and Policy Dynamics in the Contemporary Period in April 2012

Concordia’s first political science graduate conference is titled, Policy inAction: Diversity, Politics and Policy Dynamics in the Contemporary Period. Organized by the Political Science Graduate Student Association, the date is set for April 20, 2012.

The aim of this first conference is to foster dialogue and academic exchange between graduate students of different disciplines regarding the complex relationship between class, ethnic, racial, national and/or gendered difference and policy stasis or change in contemporary politics. We will explore each of these complex relationships through paper submissions related to a variety of sub-themes:

•    Indigenous Politics/the Politics of ‘Indigeneity’
•    Immigration and Settlement Politics
•    Feminism and Gender
•    Ethnic and Racial Studies
•    Civil war and international intervention
•    Transnational identities and communities
•    Nationalism
•    Class and Socio-Economic Inequality

Abstracts are welcome until February 15. Send submissions to policyinaction.conference@gmail.com.
