In order to optimize service and address lengthy elevator wait times in the John Molson School of Business (MB) Building (1450 Guy St.), Facilities Management will be performing major renovation work beginning the first week of December.
Elevators will be reprogrammed to allow certain cars to access certain levels, significantly reducing wait times. This means that three elevators will service the lower floors (RC to 8) while another three will service the upper floors (9 to 15). Signage will guide users to the correct elevator.
Users are also encouraged to take the stairs where possible, and elevator access to the second floor will be restricted to those with a key (e.g. students with disabilities).
Further, the elevator system will undergo interior work from December 12 to 23, when the building is less occupied, to replace the bottom glass panels with stainless steel, making them more resistant to impact. A maximum of two elevators will be out of service at a time.
