Call for nominations for evaluation committee for Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs

At its meeting of November 17, 2011, the Board of Governors established an Evaluation Committee for the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs. David Graham, the current Provost, has indicated he will seek a second term when his first term ends June 30, 2013. This committee has been established in accordance with the provisions set out in the Evaluation Procedure for Senior Academic Administrators and for the President and Vice-Chancellor prior to the expiry of their first mandate (Policy BD-8).

The composition of the Evaluation Committee for the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs requires one (1) administrative and support staff member from the units reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs. The incumbent for this committee is nominated in accordance with the Electoral College Policy.

Nominations Procedure
Any permanent full- or part-time member of the administrative and support staff from the units reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs may be nominated. Also, any permanent full- or part-time member of the administrative and support staff from the units reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs may nominate a permanent full- or part-time administrative and support staff member or endorse a nomination.

The nomination form must be signed and agreed to by the candidate and bear the signature of the nominator as well as the endorsement of five (5) additional permanent full- or part-time members of the administrative and support staff from the relevant unit.

Candidates must submit a pen sketch, which should include information on why they are interested in serving on the respective Evaluation Committee.

Deadline for nominations is December 9, 2011

Please submit nominations and pen sketch to: Carolina Willsher, Associate Vice-President, Human Resources, S-FB 1130 or fax to 2844 by Friday, December 9, 2011.

Please note the Electoral College will convene on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in room MB 14.250.

The Electoral College will be provided with the submitted pen sketches prior to the meeting. If the Electoral College requires more information from the candidates to make a decision, interviews will be arranged for Monday, December 12, 2011. Once the Electoral College has nominated the representative, the name of the candidate will be submitted to the Secretary of the Board of Governors for ratification.
