Concordia’s Security Department is seeking registrations for their winter series of day-long workshops on defusing potentially violent situations.
The Concordia University Security Department will be offering day-long workshops for faculty and staff who want tools to identify and defuse potentially violent situations before they escalate.
Participants will learn to identify nonverbal cues for potentially disruptive or violent behaviour early. Sessions emphasize safe, effective techniques.
The workshops are available free-of–charge to university employees who register. Registration requires supervisor approval and fees may be charged for last minute cancellations.
The following dates are available, and up to 24 people can register for each session:
- January 19
- January 26
- February 10
- February 17
- February 24
- March 11
- March 16
All workshops will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in H-767, Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W).
