Evaluation committee for dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science seeks nominations

A call for nominations has been issued for the evaluation committee for the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science. The committee is seeking one representative from the permanent full- or part-time administrative and support staff member from the Faculty.

Concordia’s policy BD-8, Evaluation Procedure for Senior Academic Administrators and for the President and Vice-Chancellor Prior to the Expiry of their First Mandate, outlines the process for conducting evaluations, which includes the creation of an evaluation committee.

On November 7, 2012, Carolina Willsher, associate VP, Human Resources, will convene the Electoral College to select the nominee for this committee. Nominations may be submitted or endorsed by the Faculty’s full- or part-time permanent administrative and support staff.

Nomination procedure
The nomination form must be signed and agreed to by the candidate and include the signature of the nominator. The form must also include the endorsement of the candidate by five additional permanent full- or part-time members of the administrative and support staff from the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Candidates must submit a pen sketch and a personal description of their interest in the position.

Deadline for nominations
Please submit nominations and pen sketches by Monday, November 5, 2012, to Carolina Willsher at S-FB 1130, or by fax to 514-848-2844.

Electoral College meeting
On November 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Electoral College will convene to review the submissions and meet the nominees.

Following the college’s nomination of one representative, the name will be submitted to the secretary of the Board of Governors. The Concordia community will be advised through a notice in the NOW e-newsletter.
