Concordians comment on conclave

Le Soleil interviews Donald Boisvert, a professor in the Department of Religion, about the history and tradition of the papacy. Boisvert also provides his analysis of each of the favoured candidates. He also appeared on CJAD with Ric Peterson, CBC Radio Homerun and CBC Radio Breakaway (no audio available for these interviews) to discuss the papal conclave. He was interviewed by The Montreal Gazette about whether having Cardinal Marc Ouellet appointed as Pope would have changed Quebecers' perspectives on the role of the Catholic Church in Quebec. Paul Allen, a professor in the Department of Theology, appeared on CJAD’s The Tommy Schnurmacher Show (appearance begins at 27 minutes and 30 seconds) March 12 to discuss the papal conclave.He also appeared on CJAD with Andrew Carter (appearance begins at 41 minutes) on March 14 to discuss the appointment of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope Francis I. Global News (appearance begins at 6 minutes and 17 seconds) on Thursday, March 14 to discusses the significance of Bergoglio’s selection of Francis for his new papal name.

Father Raymond Lafontaine, a lecturer in the Department of Theological Studies, appeared on CTV News at Noon to discuss the papal conclave and the papal candidates. Father Lafontaine also appeared on CTV News on Thursday, March 14.
