MONTREAL/May 21, 2010—
May 28 to June 4, Concordia University will welcome more than nine thousand academics from across Canada for Congress 2010 (The Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences). Journalists will be treated to a sneak peek at some of the exciting performances, technological innovations and interactive events that will be open to the public during Congress.

• Discover how engineering know-how and fine artistry come together in Hexagram’s attractive, “smart” clothing that responds to the human body’s pulse and temperature.
• Test-drive, on the Cloud Deck, a new software program that links Concordia’s diverse research into clusters in a novel multi-media demonstration.
• Knock the numbers off the stock screen at the John Molson School of Business by sending poetic text messages via SMS.
• Tour key Congress locations led by a high-tech “Pied Piper”.
This is a unique opportunity to speak to Concordia’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Judith Woodsworth, the President-elect of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, Graham Carr, Concordia’s Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies, Louise Dandurand, the Academic Convenor of Congress 2010, Ronald Rudin, and other key participants in Congress.
