MONTREAL/May 9, 2008—

Concordia University’s Applied Human Sciences Department is proud to welcome the Canadian Association for Leisure Studies for its 12th Canadian Congress on Leisure Research. The conference will take place from May 13 – May 16 in several buildings on Concordia’s Loyola Campus (7141 Sherbrooke Street West).

The conference will highlight four main themes of leisure:

• The Leisure Setting (where)
• The Leisure Experience (what)
• The Participant (who)
• The Delivery Process (how)

Panel discussions will investigate everything from the role of leisure for children who are overweight to the experience of family vacations, to gaming, to leisure as a stress relief tool, to the role of coffee shops as a gathering space for older adults and much more.
