MONTREAL/March 27, 2008—
Concordia is pleased to host a one-day symposium on the role of sport in empowering Muslim women, especially in Iran. Organized by Concordia’s Sociology and Anthropology Department and the group Women Living Under Muslim Laws, The Role of Sport in Resisting, Accommodating and in Remaking Muslim Women, will be held on Friday, March 28, from 2 – 6 p.m. in the Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. West), room 763.
Invited speakers from universities in Iran, the United States and Canada will discuss topics including:
