Concordia University Hosts 8th Annual International Students Holiday Party

Complimentary dinner caters to students who can’t go home for the holidays

MONTREAL/December 20, 2007—

Concordia University is pleased to host the 8th Annual International Students’ Holiday Party on Thursday, December 27, at 7 p.m. at the Nelligan Hotel (106 St. Paul Street).

This event has become an important tradition that fosters a sense of community and instils a fundamental sense of belonging for our international students. For many, it is their first time away from their families and first winter in Canada, and home can be quite far away— literally across the globe.

“They’re part of the Concordia family now and we’re glad to celebrate their presence among us during this festive season,” said Kathy Assayag, Vice-President, Advancement and Alumni Relations. “We care deeply about our students; each one of them contributes uniquely to Concordia and helps broaden our horizons and better understand the global community we live in. We are dedicated to helping them to grow personally and academically by fostering a welcoming environment for which Concordia is renowned.”

Concordia is home to more than 44,000 students of all ages, cultures and religions and more than 4,400 international students from more than 150 countries. More than 200 of them are expected to attend this dinner hosted by the Concordia University Alumni Association and Advancement and Alumni Relations.
