Bram Freedman
Upon the recommendation of President Michael Di Grappa, Concordia’s Board of Governors today approved the appointment of Bram Freedman as Vice-President External Relations and Secretary-General. He will take up his duties on February 4, 2008.
Freedman’s appointment marks his return to Concordia University after spending the last four and a half years as Chief Operating Officer and Director of External Relations at Federation CJA, the central fundraising and community service organization for the Jewish community of Quebec.
Prior to his last position, Freedman spent 11 years at Concordia, joining the University in 1992 as Assistant Legal Counsel and rising to the position of Assistant Secretary-General and General Counsel before his departure in 2003.
As Vice-President External Relations and Secretary-General, Freedman will report to the President and be a member of the senior management team. He will be responsible for overall university governance, the management of its legal affairs and effective government and external relations. Freedman’s sector will include the Office of the Board of Governors and Senate, Legal Affairs, the Government Relations and Public Affairs Department, the University Archives and Translation Services.
