Concordia’s John Molson School of Business Signs a Partnership Agreement With HEC Executive Education (Paris)

MONTREAL/June 19, 2007—

The John Molson School of Business (JMSB) has signed a partnership agreement with HEC Executive Education Paris which will see the JMSB offering courses in aviation management to HEC Executive Education students in their Aviation MBA Program. Raymond Bachand, Quebec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, made the announcement in France yesterday during a press conference held as part of the International Paris Air show, Le Bourget, which opens today.

Through this partnership, the JMSB will offer HEC Executive Education students a number of courses over a twelve month period, starting in 2008. This agreement will allow European students to take classes in the regular JMSB International Aviation MBA Program while learning about North American approaches to the aviation industry. At the beginning of each semester, HEC Paris students will come to Montreal for two weeks of in-class learning. The rest of their work will be completed via distance education. At the end of their courses, students will receive an Executive MBA in Aviation from HEC Paris and a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Aviation Management from Concordia.

“The JMSB is very happy with this HEC Executive Education partnership. We’re looking forward to welcoming these students to Concordia as part of our Global Aviation MBA format. We already have a number of students who come from around the world and from all sectors of the aerospace and aviation industries thanks to distance learning,” said Dr. Isabelle Dostaler, Director of the Aviation MBA Program at the JMSB.

“Globalisation and deregulation have created new and complex needs in regards to business management in the aeronautic industry,” added Georges Rochas, Aviation Development Manager of HEC Executive Education. “This will allow us to test a first phase of cooperation and exchange of European and North American knowledge in the teaching of aviation management.”

About the Global Aviation MBA Program
The John Molson School of Business at Concordia University began offering the Aviation MBA in 1992, in partnership with IATA, to provide graduate level training in aviation management. Since 1992 the curriculum has evolved to integrate aviation management training relevant to a broad range of aviation companies and organizations such as airports, civil aviation authorities and, manufacturers and suppliers. The MBA program is offered through distance learning which allows students to maintain their full-time careers. In response to market demands the JMSB started offering a Graduate Diploma and a Graduate Certificate in Aviation Management in 2005.
