From May 14-16, 2007, Concordia University, in partnership with McGraw Hill Ryerson, will present The Spirit of Inquiry: Developing Critical Thinking, Creativity and Community. This national conference for faculty, students and staff will focus on innovative strategies, new technologies and methodologies to improve and enhance the quality of higher education through the spirit of inquiry. The conference will take place in a variety of venues at the Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. West).
Almost one hundred presenters will participate in more than 80 workshops on a variety of themes, from teaching a diverse student population to student engagement, online teaching, creativity in higher learning and fostering critical thinking. Robert J. Sternberg, the noted American psychologist who developed a new theory of human intelligence and questions the efficacy of IQ tests, will present the opening keynote address on synthesizing wisdom, intelligence and creativity (Monday, May 14th at 9:30 a.m. in the D.B. Clarke Theatre, located in the Henry F. Hall Building basement).
