Concordia University Holds International Students Holidays Party

MONTREAL/December 22, 2006—

For seven years in a row, Concordia University has organized a special celebration for its many international students studying in Montreal who are unable to go home to celebrate the start of a new year with their families.

Concordia is continuing this holiday tradition with the 7th Annual International Students Holiday Party, to be held at La Cabane Grecque on Prince Arthur St. E. on December 28, 2006. Over 200 students are expected to celebrate the holidays with this complimentary dinner held in their honour by the Concordia University Alumni Association (CUAA), the Concordia Students Union (CSU) and the Concordia International Students Association (CISA).

ìThis time of year can be very hard for international students,î says Kathy Assayag, Vice-President of Advancement & Alumni Relations. ìThey can't be with their families, and many of their friends will have gone home for the holidays, but we want to show them our appreciation and understanding of their situation. We're glad to have them herald in a new year with us and with their fellow international students.î

The Annual International Students Holiday Party has become a true holiday tradition at Concordia University. The evening celebrates the diversity of Concordia students, a tangible embodiment of the University's traditions of accessibility and diversity.
