The Power To Change

Sustainable Business Conference at Concordia

On March 31, 2006, Concordia University will host the Sustainable Business Conference'06 titled The Power to Change. The day-long event will take place in the J.A. DeSève Cinema in the J.W. McConnell Building (1400 de Maisonneuve Blvd. West), beginning at 9 a.m.

This year's theme is energy and the program will explore issues including energy consumption, development and use of renewable energy technologies. It will offer insights from business leaders who have incorporated sustainable practices in their business decisions.

The keynote speaker will be Peter Robinson, the Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Equipment Co-op, bringing over 30 years of diverse professional experience to Canada's largest outdoor equipment retailer.

Other speakers include Guy Dauncey, author, activist and President of the BC Sustainable Energy Association; Steven Guilbeault, Quebec Director of Greenpeace; Denis Tanguay, Executive Director of the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition (CGC) Suzanne Wiltshire, President of SelectPower; and Terence Graham, Lead Thermal Engineer for Menova Energy's Power-Spar.

The Power to Change will provide a unique forum for discussing the obstacles, strategies and advantages surrounding sustainable companies and societies. It also during this event, provides attendees with an opportunity to network with speakers and each other.

Registration includes a full day of speakers and round table discussions with breakfast, lunch and a wine & cheese reception following the conference.
