MONTREAL/June 16, 2004—
The John Molson School of Business is holding a Successful Women Symposium on Friday June 18 from 12:30-4:30 pm in room GM 407-01 of the Guy-Metro Building (1550 De Maisonneuve Blvd West).
This cross-cultural symposium, hosted by Management Professor Dr. Terri Lituchy, will present cutting edge research that examines the characteristics of successful women in the Americas.
Originating in 1999, the project's goal is to compare successful women in different parts of the world to identify similarities across nations and regions, as well as differences that may be attributed to cultural characteristics in different places.
The researchers collected data on successful women in various countries: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and the Caribbean. One aspect of this project was that the researchers communicated virtually and will finally be meeting at the John Molson School of Business for an intensive research workshop.
The Keynote Speaker is Dr. B.J. Punnett from the University of the West Indies. An expert in international business and organizational behaviour, her most recent publications include "International Business in the Caribbean and Latin America" published by Arawak Press (Jamaica)in 2002, and "International Perspectives on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management", by M.E. Sharpe Publishers in 2003.
The academic community and the general public are invited to attend this free symposium. Seating is limited.
