MONTREAL, October 29, 2003 ó Concordia University is pleased to announce that four multidisciplinary teams have been short-listed for the Quartier Concordia urban design competition - a planning project that aims to better define the urban environment encompassing the Sir George Williams campus in downtown Montreal.
The teams are aA/Nomade/DGLA Consortium; Groupe Cardinal Hardy; Daoust Lestage Inc. and SchËme Inc./Atelier Urban Soland Inc./Louis-Paul Lemieux architecte Consortium.
Mr. Michael Di Grappa, Vice-Rector, Services, was extremely pleased with the professional scope of the candidates. ìAlthough we were considering limiting the competition to three finalists, it was clear by the strength and quality of the candidates that we should add a fourth. On behalf of the members of the Pre-Selection Committee, I can confidently say that we are greatly looking forward to their submissionsî.
The teams have until November 28th to submit their proposals. The jury will select a winner in early December. It is expected that the first phase of implementation of Quartier Concordia will begin by summer 2004.
