Lt.-Gen. RomÈo Dallaire to speak during Concordia's homecoming festivities

MONTREAL/September 30, 2003—

MONTREAL/September 30, 2003 ñ On Wednesday, October 1, Lt.-Gen. RomÈo Dallaire (Ret) will speak at Concordia, as part of the University's annual Homecoming. His speech, The New Leadership ñ A Humanistic Approach, will begin at 7 pm, in room H-110 of the Henry F. Hall Building (1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd. West).

Lt.-Gen. Dallaire is a true Canadian hero and an outspoken leader for the 21st century. He has courageously spoken out not only about his experience leading a UN mission in Rwanda, but about the effect of that experience on his personal life. As a result, he has been praised for showing exemplary leadership and advancing understanding of traumatic stress.

He is a member of the most senior level of leadership in the Canadian Forces and Department of National Defence, with extensive experience in human resources management, executive leadership, strategic planning, and international affairs.

An advocate of lifelong education, he spearheaded the effort to redefine the long-term professional development and training requirements of the Canadian Forces officer corps.

His speech is one of numerous events organized for Concordia alumni, but the community-at-large is also invited to take part.
