MONTREAL/June 9, 2003—
MONTREAL/June 9, 2003 ó Nine distinguished individuals will receive honorary degrees at Concordia University's spring convocation ceremonies to be held on June 12 and 13.
The recipients are molecular biologist and Nobel laureate Sidney Altman, biologist John Tyler Bonner, neuroscientist and Nobel laureate Eric Kandel, neurobiologist Larry Swanson, president of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Thomas Brzustowski, Pratt & Whitney executive Gilles Ouimet, business executive Robert E. Brown, investment analyst Stephen A.Jarislowsky and Stratford Festival artistic director Richard Monette.
Some 3,700 graduates will receive degrees, diplomas or certificates from Concordia's four Faculties: Arts and Science, John Molson School of Business, Engineering and Computer Science, Fine Arts.
This year, five ceremonies will be held at Place des Arts, Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall, situated at 175 St. Catherine Street West. The events will take place as follows:
