Two distinguished individuals will receive honorary degrees at Concordia University's fall convocation ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, at the Palais des CongrËs, 201 Viger St. West, Niveau 1, Salle B (metro Place d'Armes).
The Honourable Lise Thibault, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree. The 27th Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, she is the first woman in the history of Quebec to be called to this high office. As Lieutenant Governor, she personifies the stability of the state and the permanent nature of our institutions. Madame Thibault will be the keynote speaker at the convocation ceremony.
An honorary doctorate will also be presented to internationally renowned theatre and film director, actor and writer Robert Lepage. As an interdisciplinary force, his large body of work has included collaborations with composers, the direction of numerous works for the stage, both nationally and internationally, and most recently feature film.
Joining our two distinguished guests will be many of the 1,300 students graduating from Concordia's four Faculties and the School of Graduate Studies, as well as their family and friends.
