Concordia University to award seven honorary degrees at five ceremonies for 3,000 graduating students

MONTREAL/June 3, 1999—

even distinguished individuals will receive honorary degrees at Concordia University’s spring convocation ceremonies to be held on June 10, 11 and 15 at Place des Arts.

The recipients are human rights activist and former politician the Honourable Edward Broadbent, Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Annie Proulx, distinguished professor of journalism and communications Dr. James Carey, professor and university administrator Dr. Robert Wall, philanthropist and industrialist Peter Munk, business executive Charles-Albert Poissant and telecommunications industry leader Charles Sirois.

Some 3,011 graduates will receive degrees, diplomas or certificates from the four Faculties and the School of Graduate Studies (2,482 Bachelor’s degrees, 366 Master’s degrees, 36 doctorates, 127 diplomas and 69 certificates).

The ceremonies will take place as follows:
