Concordia University marks the accreditation of its Faculty of Commerce and Administration by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) with a ceremony and press conference on Friday, April 11, 1997 at 10:00 a.m.

Accreditation by the premier organization in the field signals that the Faculty is among the best business schools in North America. The Faculty of Commerce and Administration is the first business school in the Montreal area and one of only four schools in Canada to have earned this prestigious accreditation. Of more than 1,250 business schools in North America, only 332 have successfully completed the rigorous accreditation process ó schools such as Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford, UCLA, Columbia and Wharton.

Speakers include: the Honourable Lucienne Robillard, federal Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and MP for Saint-Henri-Westmount; standing in for Serge MÈnard, Quebec Minister of State for Metropolitan Montreal, is Dr. Camille Laurin, MNA for Bourget and a former Education Minister; Dr. Frederick Lowy, Rector and Vice Chancellor of Concordia University; Mohsen Anvari, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Administration; and Carl Stem, Dean of the College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University and official representative of the AACSB.
