“Irvin was one of the first people I met when I started working at Concordia 10 years ago,” wrote Tahlia Elman, budget coordinator at Concordia, in an online guestbook.
“He was always smiling and never made me feel like I was bothering him, even when I called him 20 times a day with 100 questions! He quickly became a good friend to me.”
Joanne Beaudoin, administrative director with the School of Graduate Studies, remembered Dudeck as a truly dedicated Concordian throughout his career. “Irvin always had a quick smile, had the answer to everything, and was great fun to work with.”
Angela Wilson Wright, executive assistant to the director of Concordia’s Centre for Continuing Education, said Dudeck had “the best birds-eye view” of the university.
“With that and his dedication, he mentored me on many a subject and guided me in my career at Concordia. I’m forever grateful.”
Predeceased by his parents Teenie and Max and brother Gerald, Irvin will be dearly missed by his sister Shelley; his nieces Jennifer, Sharon and Marcie; his nephews Jeff and Charlie; his Montreal family, Christine, Malcolm, Jane and Gabby; and all his friends, former Concordia colleagues and fellow Broadway enthusiasts with whom he shared his infectious love of life.
