This year, Concordia is observing a holiday schedule from Wednesday, December 24, 2014, to Sunday, January 4, 2015.

No classes or other instructional activities will occur.* Staff, faculty and graduate students with appropriate Concordia-issued ID cards will have access to offices, studios and laboratories; undergraduate students require a letter from their respective departments for access.

Find out more about holiday-time energy-conservation measures at Concordia. These affect ventilation, temperatures and lighting. The university’s policy on working outside the hours of operation or in isolation is available online.

*Please note that certain exceptions may apply, including privatized and Executive MBA courses.


Shuttle bus service
  • Shuttle buses will not run from December 24 to January 4. There is a special holiday schedule for December 18 to 23 and January 5 and 6. The full shuttle schedule is available here. The regular schedule resumes January 7.
R. Howard Webster and Georges P. Vanier libraries
  • Both libraries are open 24 hours until December 18. On December 19, they will close at 9 p.m.
  • From December 19 to January 6, hours for all library services vary widely. Check the Libraries web page for full details.
  • December 24 to December 26: Closed.
  • December 30 to January 2: Closed.
  • To access the R. Howard Webster Library in the J.W. McConnell Building, use the Mackay Street entrance.
Campus Retail Stores
  • The bookstores, computer stores and Digital Stores are closed from December 24 to January 4.
Food services
  • Chartwells food service units are closed December 24 to January 4.
  • In accordance with the meal-plan agreement, the last meal service this year will be available at lunch on December 23. Service resumes January 5 for dinner (both campuses).
Parking
  • Parking in the J.W. McConnell Building is closed from December 24 to January 4.
  • Loyola parking remains open.
  • Faubourg Tower parking is closed on December 25 only.
Tunnel access
  • Tunnels on the Sir George Williams Campus are closed after 11 p.m. on December 23 until 7 a.m. on January 5.
Daycare
Workout facilities
  • Le Gym (downtown) is closed from December 22 at 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on January 5.
  • Le Centre (Loyola Campus) is closed from December 23 at 6 p.m. to January 2. On January 2, it will operate from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. On January 3 and 4, Le Centre is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and regular hours resume January 5 at 6:30 a.m.
Ed Meagher Arena
  • Closed from December 24 to 31.
  • Open January 1 from 3 to 7 p.m.
  • From January 2 to 4, watch the Theresa Humes hockey tournament.
  • The arena reopens January 5 at 7 a.m.
Stinger Dome
  • From December 22 to 27, no activities are scheduled.
  • On December 28 to 31 and on January 2, the Dome is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Closed January 1
  • Open January 3 from 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Open January 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Regular schedule resumes January 5
Gymnasium (Loyola)
  • Closed from December 20 to 25 and from December 30 to January 4
  • Open December 26 from 6 to 10 p.m. and December 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • From December 28 to 30, watch the women's basketball tournament.
  • The regular schedule resumes January 5.
