The objective of this workshop is to build on evidence-based research knowledge and project management practices to help behavioural and social scientists conduct their project more successfully. Although as behavioural and social science academics we undertake research projects, most lack formal expertise and training in project management. We build on our experiences in grad school and accumulate wisdom as we progress from associate, assistant, to full professor. But is this good enough? In this workshop I will present project management fundamentals pertinent to social scientists and grad students. I will also integrate knowledge and research on teamwork, collaboration, the determinants of innovation, and what these mean for project teams.

The workshop will include exercises on project planning, risk management, and stakeholder management. After the workshop, participants will be able to apply their new knowledge to current and future projects.
