Suparna Barai (GDBA 2016)

Customer Service Advocate at Future Electronics

I liked the curriculum John Molson School of Business offers graduate diploma students. The school's international reputation played a major role in my choice as well. Moreover, the program doesn’t require any work experience or GMAT as admission requirements. Hence, being a fresh graduate, I thought the GDBA  would be the right choice for me to gain a better understanding of the Canadian business environment in one year only!

From the moment I started in the program, I was engaged with campus activities that John Molson School of Business facilitates for students: this transformed my persona. One gets every opportunity to learn, to grow and to be their best, both academically and professionally.  Experienced faculty, student-friendly administration, outstanding student activities and great networking opportunities with a variety of industries, altogether make a remarkable experience for students. I am really proud to have been a part of this school.

Ian Swanson, BSCH, MSc, GCBA 2010

Business Development Associate, Synaptive Medical, Toronto, Canada

"When I realized academia was not where my future lay, I discovered that my experiences and skill set left blatant gaps that would require filling as I stepped off the academic path. Much like other science students, my university experience had been exclusively focused on building the knowledge and skills required to succeed in my field, but they were not easily transferable to other disciplines.

Enrolling in the GCBA program was an easy win; the courses were instrumental in helping me bridge the gap between science and business. Although they were definitely a different style of class from that I was used to in science, they were not nearly as daunting as I thought they would be. I now work at a company that straddles the line between business and science, and I feel the GCBA program not only helped me land the job, but also facilitated a smooth transition out of academia."
