JMSB Dean Steve Harvey announced that Thomas Walker from the Department of Finance has been appointed interim director of the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise (DOCSE). This appointment takes effect on February 1, 2015.

Walker has been a professor at the John Molson School of Business since 2001 and holds the Laurentian Professorship in Risk Management. He brings several years of administrative experience to his new role having served as chair of the finance department.  He has also been extensively involved with the DOCSE over the last few years.

He replaces Paul Shrivastava who has held the position since the inauguration of the centre in November 2009. Shrivastava has been named Executive Director of Future Earth, a United Nations Program for global sustainability.

“I would like to congratulate Thomas on this appointment,” says Harvey. “And I would like to thank Paul for his years of dedication to the Centre. DOCSE has gained a worldwide reputation because of his efforts and vision.”
