Applying for undergraduate or graduate study

Before applying

You should have chosen your programs (see Undergraduate Programs and Program Availability and Deadlines, or Graduate Programs) and consulted all of the admission requirements (see Undergraduate Admission Requirements and Graduate Admission Requirements).

Step 1 - Create a profile and start an online application

If you have not already done so, begin by creating a profile on Connect2Concordia. The information in your profile will be used to pre-populate the online application.

You will be asked to provide biographical and contact information, your program selection(s), your academic history and current courses, and will have the option to upload supporting documents.

Connect2Concordia also provides you with your very own MailBox where you can communicate with our staff if you have any questions concerning your application.

In order to complete the online application process you will need a valid Credit Card and a valid E-mail address for correspondence. – Sign Up Now!

Step 2 - Required documents

You can upload documents online via the application, but transcripts and test scores submitted online are considered to be unofficial. You should nevertheless upload unofficial documents online as they allow us to start the admission process.

To complete an admission file, however, official copies of the documents (and official translations) are required. Applicants must arrange to have these official documents sent directly from the institution to the Admissions Application Centre or the Birks Student Service Center (for addresses, see sidebar).

Many graduate programs require the completion of additional forms or the submission of additional materials. It is the responsibility of the applicant to determine what further documentation may be required. Please contact the appropriate person within the department housing your program in order to verify if there are any additional program-specific requirements. Find your contact person by visiting the departmental website (see full list of department websites) or use the contact list from the School of Graduate Studies.

Step 3 - Finalizing the application

The last step before submitting the application will be to pay a $90 application fee with a valid Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard).

If you do not have access to a valid credit card, you may request a PDF of the application form via your personal Mailbox within Connect2Concordia.

Once you have submitted your online application, you will receive a confirmation email with a 7 digit student ID number. (If you did not receive your confirmation email please contact us at [514] 848-2668 for verification and we will send your Student ID number to you by email.)

Checking your application status

You can check your application status in the MyConcordia portal. To obtain access to the portal, you need a NetName, which you can get by visiting this Concordia NetName website. You will be asked to provide your student ID number and date of birth.

With your new NetName, you can then log-in to the MyConcordia web portal.

For co-op programs

Students interested in applying to Co-op should so indicate by selecting the appropriate box on the online application (see undergraduate and graduate procedures above). Selected applicants may be interviewed by the appropriate co-op committee. Applicants may be asked to provide a résumé of past work experience and a statement of the reasons for their interest in the Co-op program.

All individuals applying to the co-op option in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science are required to submit a letter of intent and a curriculum vitae with their application form.

For continuing education

In order to register for courses in the Centre for Continuing Education, you must complete a registration form, indicating the term/session for which you are registering, which can then be sent by mail, fax or in-person.

Some programs also require self-assessment forms or written placement tests. All course fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Part-time course registration periods are scheduled four times each academic year. For each session, there is:

  • an "Early Registration" period when registration forms can be faxed-in, mailed-in or dropped off at the Centre;
  • an "In-Person Registration" Evening (For the Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions only);
  • and a "Late Registration" period when a late registration fee is applied.

Remember, the earlier you register the better, as some courses fill up quickly once the registration period begins for a session. Registration for Intensive Programs is on going through out the year as long as there is space available in the program. All registrations are processed on a first-come first-served basis.

You will receive confirmation of your registration by e-mail. You can verify the status of your course registration and print your Registration Contract on-line via the MyConcordia web portal. Please note that if you have not already activated your netname in the past, you will have to do so before using the Portal. Activating your netname needs to be done one time only. All information regarding your registration can be found under the Continuing Education Menu once you are logged into the Portal.
