MyConcordia Portal

MyConcordia portal is a secure, self-serviced, central web point that provides content and services to its users based on their relationship with the University.
Students can access their personalized class schedule, course registration, online fee payment, exam schedule, student record, book list, and more. Employees can access pay stubs, change of address, emergency contact, benefits inquiry, and more.
Note: Undergraduate students can also log into the MyConcordia mobile web registration page to access their class schedule, grades, and web registration.
How to: Activate MyConcordia Portal netname
- Visit: myconcordia.ca
- Click on 'activate'
- Select your account type (student or employee)
- Fill out the required information to complete the activation process
- Students: Your netname will have an underscore in it.
- Employees: Your netname will not have an underscore in it.
After filling out the required information, visit myconcordia.ca to log in with your new netname and password. Your password is case sensitive and must be typed exactly as displayed.
How to: Reset MyConcordia Portal password
- Visit: myconcordia.ca
- Click on 'forgot'
- Select your account type (student/employee)
- Students: Fill out the required information. An email will be sent to the email address listed in your student account. Click on the URL provided in the email to create a new MyConcordia password.
- Employees: Fill out the required information to reset your password.
After filling out the required information, visit myconcordia.ca to log in with your new netname and password. Your password is case sensitive and must be typed exactly as displayed.
Common MyConcordia activation problems
You do not know your ID number
- Students: Visit the IITS Service Desk in person (H925 or CC207) for support. Out of town students must contact the Office of the Registrar at 514-848-2424 ext. 2668.
- Employees: You will need to contact your department or HR at 514-848-2424 ext. 3666
The system is not accepting your personal information (ex. ID, date of birth, postal code)
- Students: Please verify your personal student information with the Office of the Registrar at 514-848-2424 ext. 2668
- Employees: Please verify your personal employee information with HR at 514-848-2424 ext. 3666
You do not have access to the email address that the system is emailing the reset procedure to (students)
- Students: Contact the IITS Service Desk in person (H925 or CC207) for support.

Netnames and Passwords
How do I create my netname and password for MyConcordia?

I don't know my student ID number. How can I obtain it?
Your student ID can be found on your ID card, your admissions e-mail, as well as on any official documents you may have received from Concordia. It is required to activate your MyConcordia portal. If you have lost/forgotten your student ID number you will need to visit the Birks Student Service Centre in LB 185 (1440 de Maisonneuve blvd.) with photo ID. IITS is unable to give out personal student information via phone or e-mail.
Why is the MyConcordia portal not accepting my personal information?
If you are trying to activate your netname, or reset your password, and the system is not accepting your information, you will have to verify your personal student information with the Office of the Registrar by calling 514-848-2424 ext. 2668.

How can I change my netname?
Unfortunately, netnames cannot be changed. They are automatically computer generated upon acceptance to Concordia.
If I merge my student and staff netname, which netname do I keep?
If you are a student and employee of the University, you have the option to merge your portal accounts. This would allow for you to obtain all of your Concordia information in one location, using one username and password. When you merge your accounts, everything is merged under your staff netname.

How do I start registering for courses?
After receiving academic advising from your department, you may start registering for courses by selecting the Registration option in your MyConcordia portal.
Why can’t I drop a course?
You should be able to add or drop courses until the date posted on the academic calendar.
Why can’t I view ‘My Class Schedule’?
To consult your class schedule, simply click on My Class Schedule to view another menu:

How can I access my course websites?
Class websites are available via Moodle, as of the first day of classes.
Why haven't my grades been posted yet?
Although your professor may have stated that he/she submitted your grade, the process is quite lengthy as each grade must be approved by the department chair. Please contact your department directly to verify why your grades have not been posted.
How can I change my e-mail address in the MyConcordia portal?
To ensure you receive important information from Concordia, please enter your e-mail address in your MyConcordia portal. Correspondence from Professors (and Moodle), Administrators and other Concordia departments will be sent to this e-mail address.
- Students: Your e-mail address should be set in the Academic > Change My E-Mail Address section of the portal.
- Employees: Your e-mail address should be set in the Employee Self Service > MyHR Profile section of the portal.
- The full path is: Employee Self Service > MyHR Profile > my empath > personal > contacts > phone and email.
What is a Permanent Code, and how do I obtain one?
The purpose of the permanent code is to individually identify students in the Quebec education system. It is a 12 character significant code that consists of the first 3 letters of the family name, the first letter of the given name, the date of birth (day, month [the female gender is identified by adding 50], year) and 2 validation numbers as determined by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport. The number 62 is added to the day of birth of all students born after 1999. Students who do not provide a valid permanent code or acceptable documents to create one by the deadline date will be billed a permanent code surcharge. What is the Quebec Residency form for?

How do I access the application centre in the MyConcordia portal?
Once logged into your MyConcordia portal, select Application Center from the left menu.

My name is spelled incorrectly in MyConcordia.
How can I change it?
To correct your personal information please contact the Office of the Registrar at 514-848-2424 ext. 2668.
I'm getting a weird error in the portal, what do I do?
If you experience an unknown error in the portal, please copy and paste the full error into the following webform.
I'm not able to access the portal through my browser. What browsers are compatible?

Troubleshooting - Login problems
'Your User ID and/or Password are invalid.'
If you receive an error that your netname or password is invalid, please note the following:
- Your netname should be entered in lower-case. If you are a student, it will include an underscore (_).
- MyConcordia Portal passwords are case sensitive. There is a difference between uppercase characters and lowercase characters.
If you continue to experience difficulties, please reset your credentials. To do so:
- Visit myconcordia.ca
- Next to Password click on (forgot?)
- You will be asked to enter information so we may verify your identity.
- The following page will ask you to answer a secret question* for further verification and to receive a new password.
- Once completed, you may access the portal page once more and log in with your new username and password.
* If you are unable to answer your secret question you will have to come in person to an IITS Service Desk (H925 or CC206). IITS is unable to reset passwords via e-mail or phone.
Problems caused by web-browsers
Note: You must be using a supported browser to access the MyConcordia portal.
If you are experiencing difficulty logging in to the portal, your internet browser may be the problem. Internet browsers often save information (such as passwords and copies of previously visited web pages) in order to load pages more quickly. Please try clearing your browser's cache and cookies and then try logging into MyConcordia once more. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, see our web browser information page for instructions.
