Learning and Development
The 2013 Learning and Development calendar is designed to meet the needs of our managers and staff. This new curriculum is the culmination of work carried out since 2009, which included focus groups and surveys that identified our employees’ professional development requirements.
New for 2013
Last year marked the inauguration of a new Leadership Portfolio, a well-rounded program comprised of an initial series of courses that supported an approach to effective leadership skills to maximize the managers’ ability to lead, mentor, develop and mobilize their employees. This year, eight (8) new workshops / courses have been added to the portfolio. Managers can follow as many and as few courses as they choose within the program, depending on their needs and interests.
Also being launched this year is a new line of courses designed for managers and staff where the focus is on improving customer service as well as various administrative skills.
Back by popular demand
Other popular workshops / courses from the 2012 curriculum, on topics such as communication skills and stress management have been brought back this year to provide more of our employees the opportunity to benefit from them.
Click here to access the 2013 calendar.
Employees will also require their supervisor’s approval to register for courses. Should it become impossible for a manager to liberate an employee for a course once they have registered, the department will have to defray the cost of the course, in concordance with the aforementioned terms.
