ADVANCEMENT AND ALUMNI RELATIONS
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, LEADERSHIP ANNUAL GIVING (C1665)

This posting represents a two (2) year contract position.
Reporting to the Director, Annual Giving, the incumbent is responsible for securing funding from Leadership Annual Giving prospects in support of Concordia University's institutional priorities. This includes the identification, recruitment and personal solicitation of high-level Annual Giving prospects. He/she is also responsible for recruiting and training volunteers to assist with these efforts.
- Develop, in collaboration with key stakeholders, a Leadership Annual Giving strategy. Manage a portfolio of prospective donors and personally solicit Leadership Annual Giving contributions through face-to-face meetings and other means.
- Familiarize oneself with University faculties and departments and their priorities, institutional messaging and best practices related to higher education fundraising, in order to effectively serve a variety of audiences and needs.
- Collaborate with faculty-based Development Officers and other frontline fund-raisers to ensure coordinated solicitation strategies. Participate in Advancement and Alumni Relations' prospect identification and clearance process.
- Develop and implement a communication plan, including the necessary gift proposals, other fundraising tools, and promotional materials.
- Identify, recruit and train volunteers in support of Leadership Annual Giving initiatives.
- Recommend donor recognition and gift stewardship strategies for Leadership Giving Annual Giving donors.
- Assist in the development and the implementation of other Annual Giving programs, as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of related work experience, preferably in a fundraising role.
- Work experience in the voluntary, non-profit sectors, especially institutions of higher learning and fundraising experience are definite assets.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and donors.
- Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create and format documents, mail merges, create spreadsheets and charts as well as create presentations. Ability to work in a PC environment, with Outlook and to research information using the Internet and other sources.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Ability to interact effectively with volunteers and prospective donors is essential.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
$62,703.84 - $74,936.90 per annum
