Daniel Oxley, MFA, BFA

Part-time Instructor, Painting and Drawing

Daniel Oxley's work can be seen in various collections in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Dividing his living and working between Montreal and Kingston for some 17 years now, Daniel Oxley has always felt that Montreal was essential to his artistic and creative soul. As a result, he has never been able to leave the city for too long a time.

Of his approach, Daniel Oxley has said: "My practice on and in the areas of painting and drawing draws on the understanding that there is a hierarchical and symbolic approach to the visual world that we occupy that is bound to the traditions of the practice as well as to the contemporary responsibilities that frame the artistic practice at this moment. I hope that my work engages the viewer intellectually while stimulating the senses."
