The FOFA Gallery launches its fall program with three distinct exhibitions that delve into ideas around exhibition, performance and display from varying perspectives:

  • Exhibiting the Archive / Performing the Archive which examines our shared history of colonization in Canada through the work of three contemporary Aboriginal artists.
  • Eyelash Wars, an expanded fiction that spectacularizes the competing commercial displays of two rival vendors of beauty products.
  • An installation titled That innate and ineradicable craving for what is out of the common proves how glad we are to have the natural and tedious course of things interrupted.

The vernissage will feature a performance from Eyelash Wars artists Emily Pelstring and Jessica Mensch.

The exhibitions will be open to the public from September 2 until October 19, 2014.

The FOFA Gallery presents work showcasing the range and quality of artistic media and concerns as practiced by its current and past faculty, staff and students. In addition, the Gallery will from time to time present work by artists from outside the Concordia community when it enhances, amplifies or informs the pedagogic goals of the Faculty.
