Concordia University Art Education faculty and students had a busy time during the 2014-15 academic year.

From September to May, faculty members received external SSHRC and FQRSC funding in excess of $319,000. They were also very successful in receiving internal funding for research and curriculum development. Additionally, professors made nine presentations published two books, two book chapters (with a third under review), one conference proceeding, two journal publications, plus one accepted for future publication. One faculty member had an exhibition of her artwork in Riga, two more received special recognition awards from the University –one for excellence in teaching and the other for engagement with the Montreal community.

Art Education students have been commendably active and have earned recognition for this institution via their professional and scholarly potential. Six of our PhD students, plus one MA, received SSHRC support, and three PhD students received FQRSC funding. Eight students – three undergraduate and five graduate – made presentations at professional conferences in Canada and the United States.
