Adapted by Harry Standjofski

Directed by Dean Patrick Fleming

When Alice follows the white rabbit down the rabbit hole, she encounters a colourful and quirky cast of characters in her dream world. But these characters are more than what they appear. In this dark and mature reimagining of the classic stories, Alice discovers that growing up can be as illogical as it is inevitable. As Alice attempts to cross the confusing bridge from childhood to adolescence, she must wonder: How and when do we grow up?

Director Dean Fleming, (artistic director of Geordie Productions and Concordia alumnus) explains how this particular production of Alice, which recreates both Lewis Carroll's Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass, is definitely for mature audiences (16 years and older).

“By raising Alice’s age to 13, Harry [Standjofski] has provided us with the chance to create a different type of wonderland. While the nonsense still is in abundance, we’ve also been able to explore some of the darker and deeper questions that a 13-year-old girl might be grappling with. The design process has been thrilling and imaginative and the actors have thrown themselves into the process. This has been and continues to be a great ride and I am truly excited to share this new adaptation.”
