The Department of Studio Arts Sculpture graduates invite you to discover their latest work in a landmark historical building.

The Furniture We Are Forever Rearranging expresses the aspect of multiplicity and explores our relationship with the ambient objects that characterize our contemporary lives. Thirteen artists working independently in a shared studio have assembled pieces not initially meant to design a unifying show.

Like a rhizome* growth, which can be compared to a model of thinking that allows any points of a given event to meet, the ensemble of pieces is not serving a greater ''one''. This ensemble of installation, sound art, and sculpture is nevertheless unified through its disparate entry points and the correlating aesthetic choices that speak to one another.

Both singular and plural, the works stand alone as they become part of a greater network of relationships.

From tactile materiality to the representations of the human body and society, we are constantly connecting and rearranging the world around us. Characterized by the breadth and scope of this exhibition, we represent a multiplicity difficult to pin down.
