Stephen Menzies has the combined experience of feature film visual effects, 3D feature animation, and research and development on end-to-end 3D software applications. Following up on a career as a digital artist and animator contributing to advanced 3D software research (Taarna, DNA Research) he is currently a vfx producer contributing visual effects to recent feature films like Marc Fafard's IMAX3D, Dragons (2013), Alex Aja's Piranha 3D (2010), John Woo's historical epic, Red Cliff (2009), J. Frakes's Librarian:Curse of the Judas Chalice (TV movie, 2008) and National Geographic's IMAX3D Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure (2007). Stephen is a faculty lecturer at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, Concordia Computation Arts Department, and ETS-UQAT. His students have gone on to establish careers at Ubisoft, Warner Bros Games, EA, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Digital Domain, Third Floor, Halon, Dreamworks, ReelFX, Weta and other major game and visual effects studios around the world.
