Montreal-born, London UK based artist Allison Katz’s paintings and projects lie well outside of categorization and expectations. Since receiving a MFA from Columbia University, New York in 2008 and a BFA from Concordia University in 2001 Katz’ practice has been highly dynamic and her paintings and projects have been exhibited and featured at a wide range of galleries and artistic platforms internationally.

Solo exhibitions from 2013/2014 include 'Rumours, Echoes' at Boatos, Sao Paulo, Brazil; ‘The Thames started moving/ someone in Oxford is running a bath’ at Johan Berggren, Malmö, Sweden; ‘Perra Perdida,’ (in collaboration with Camilla Wills), Lulu, Mexico City; and shows at Piper Keys, London and Laura Bartlett Gallery, London, among others. Group shows this year include ‘July’ at The Approach, London; ‘Last seen entering the Biltmore’ at South London Gallery, UK; Cooper Cole, Toronto; and a project for Gallery Peacetime at the Kestnergesellschaft, Hannover.  Other projects include the creation of editions for Gasconade, Milan, The Song Cave Press, Northampton, and an insert for The Happy Hypocrite, Book Works, London.  Katz’ work has been featured in Art in America, MetropolisM, Flash Art and Kaleidoscope.

Katz's forthcoming projects include a site–specific painting project for "Puddle, pothole, portal," at SculptureCenter, New York this October and a solo show at Kunstverein Freiburg, Germany in 2015.
