Julia Skelly is Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at Concordia University. She completed her PhD in the Department of Art at Queen's University in 2010 and received her MA from the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University in 2006. Skelly is the author of Wasted Looks: Addiction and British Visual Culture, 1751-1919 (Ashgate, 2014) and the editor of The Uses of Excess in Visual and Material Culture, 1600-2010 (Ashgate, 2014). Her next book, entitled Radical Decadence: Excess in Contemporary Feminist Textiles and Craft, will be published by Bloomsbury. She also recently completed an online book for the Art Canada Institute that examines the life and work of Montreal artist Prudence Heward.
