Haider Ali, MBA 16, is co-founder of the The Presentations Workshop. He heads the Business Intelligence Unit for McGill University, using a potent combination of software and magic to turn data into insight. His love for presentations and public speaking comes from recognizing the power of storytelling and its ability to move and inspire people. Haider is incredibly passionate about finding the human element in everything he does, and is a staunch believer in authenticity being the most important element in business. During his MBA, Haider saw that detached and humourless presentations were the norm and, with his co-founder Daniel Tinoco, decided to create The Presentations Workshop to help improve the standard.
Programmer, entrepreneur and presentations guru Daniel Tinoco is determined to revolutionize the world of public speaking, one powerpoint presentation at a time. His engaging style came about as a result of sitting through way too many university, graduate and professional presentations. In 2015 he co-founded The Presentations Workshop, to help those who have great ideas but not-so-great communication skills create and deliver attention-grabbing pitches. When he’s not helping students, entrepreneurs, and business professionals impress everyone they speak to, he’s busy building websites, working in McGill’s fundraising department, editing photography projects, completing an MBA at Concordia, offering tech support to charities, and watching as many TED talks as he can before his girlfriend turns off the TV.
