The Meaning Business program is designed around eight off-campus visits to signature Montreal-based businesses that integrate creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in their business model.
Our first industry visit is to Hydro Quebec’s one of the world’s largest hydropower facilities, located just 45 minutes from downtown Montréal!
There is a mandatory workshop facilitated by Concordia Career and Planning Services which all participants must take before each off-campus industry visit. This workshop will prepare you for the off-campus visit to the company and give you some strategies on how to get the most out of your visit. If you are not available to attend for the workshop, you cannot join the off-campus visit.
The mandatory preparation workshop:
October 4, 2016 from 1 to 2 pm
Room H-763
During our visit to Hydro Quebec’s Beauharnois Generating Station, you will learn about its role in Quebec’s economy, about employment opportunities at Hydro Quebec as well as how hydroelectric energy production works. The tour will be followed by a visit to Héritage Saint-Bernard where we will have lunch. Brief program for the day of the visit:
10 am to 1 pm: meet, get there and explore the facilities
1 to 3:30 pm : get to Ile St. Bernard, have lunch and explore the Park Heritage Saint-Bernard
Registration policy: due to high-demand, Hydro Quebec visit can only accommodate 30 students. The registration is on first come-first serve basis. Once we exceed our 30 people capacity, you will be automatically placed on the waiting list.
Cancellation policy: if your availability has changed, you must write us an email as soon as possible to iso.assistant@concordia.ca so we can offer a spot to the next person on the waiting list. If you forget to write to us but simply decide not to show up, you will not be allowed to participate in any other off-campus industry visits.
